We achieve our targets as a social enterprise business by way of contract farming with farmers and farmer groups registered, affiliated and monitored by our field staff. Majority of Uganda’s farmers are peasants, so we have registered a large number of them to achieve the minimum tonnage per year. Every registered farmer group is contracted to plant, care for and carefully harvest the crop using standard quality regulations.
Being close to the farm gives us the opportunity to follow the quality of the coffee even before harvesting. We partner with farmers and pay a premium price for premium coffee.
Most farmers visit our factory, observe the production process and see the finished product. This provides them with a tremendous sense of satisfaction and pride of ownership of what their coffee beans became!
