NIHACOFA has 4404 registered farmer members currently as in the year 2017 with 173 Producer Organizations (POs) up from original 160 members with a target by the end of 2016 to reach at least 10,000 farmers. We achieve our targets as a social enterprise business by way of contract farming with farmers and farmer groups registered, affiliated and monitored by our field staff. All interested individual farmers and farmer groups are hereby encouraged to register through our website by downloading the registration form below. Arabica coffee remains of vital importance in Uganda’s economy, earning on average just short of 60% of annual export revenues during the period 1996 to 2000. It is estimated that as much as 20% of the entire population earn all or a large part of their cash income from coffee.
Farmer Member Registration Requirements
- Farmers can register as farmer groups or producer organizations
- Every registered farmer is contracted to plant, care for and carefully harvest the crop using standard quality regulations monitored by NIHACOFA programme and field coordinators
- Prospective farmers should be residents of Zombo and Nebbi Districts in West Nile sub-region, Rep. of Uganda
